Agricultural Product Standards Amendment Bill 2014

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has published the Agricultural Product Standards Amendment Bill, and is asking you to comment.

On 16 August 2013 and 3 October 2014 respectively, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will conduct public hearings on the Bill during the month of March and April 2015.

Bill seeks to amend the Agricultural Product Standards Act, 1990, so as to:
▪ insert a definition and substitute other;
▪ provide for auditing of a product for quality control;
▪ make provision for management control system;
▪ make further provisions for the Minister to make regulations pertaining to audit management control systems.

The public hearings will take place during the dates, times and venues specified in the table below:
