The National Treasury has published the discussion document ‘Treating Customers Fairly in the Financial Sector: A Draft Market Conduct Policy Framework for South Africa” in December 2014, and has asked for comments from the public.

The Document sets out a proposed approach to strengthening and improving market conduct regulation for financial institution in South Africa, to ensure that customer are treated fairly. This part of the Twin Peaks reform of financial sector regulation.
