Standing Committee on Appropriations

The Standing Committee on Appropriations invites you to make written and / or oral submissions on the 2024 Appropriation Bill. The said Bill was tabled with the 2024 National Budget by the Minister of Finance on 21 February 2024. The Money Bills Amendment Procedure and Related Matters Amendment Act, Act No 13 of 2018 requires Parliament to conduct public hearings and to report on all Bills.

The 2024 Appropriation Bill (the Bill) appropriates money from the National Revenue Fund for the requirement of the State for the 2024/25 financial year; to prescribe conditions for the spending of funds withdrawn for the 2025/26 financial year before the commencement of the Appropriation Act for the 2025/26 financial year; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.

Public hearings on the Bill will be conducted via the Zoom virtual meeting platform on 19 July 2024. The closing date to make submissions or indicate your intention to make an oral presentation is at 12:00 on 18 July 2024.
