Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority Bill

The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs invites you to submit written comments on the Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority Bill [B14 – 2022].

The Bill proposes to:
▪ provide for the establishment, functions and powers of the Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority;
▪ provide for the criteria and procurement for the determination and redetermination of municipal boundaries;
▪ provide for the delimitation of wards;
▪ provide for the establishment of the Demarcation Appeals Authority and to provide for municipal capacity assessments.
