Meeting report

Report on the Fiscal Framework
The Chairperson tabled the report and asked Members to comment on it.

Mr M Makhubela (COPE, Limpopo) pointed out that the Committee could only deal with the revised fiscal framework in February or March after the tabling of the Budget. He further stated that there was no Fiscal Framework to deal with now and suggested that the Committee seek advice on this.

Members agreed that the Committee would get an opinion from the parliamentary legal advisor concerning this matter.

The Chairperson said that the Committee would be meeting every week until the first week of December. He then provided details of the Committee’s plans for the following weeks: next Tuesday, the Committee would be considering the Taxation Laws Amendment Bill and the Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill. On the day after, the Committee would discuss the section (100)(1)(b) intervention in Limpopo as well as the  Credit Rating Services Bill [B8–2012] and Financial Markets Bill [B 12– 2012]

The Chairperson adjourned the meeting.
